Allison Brush-Stern invented the "Collapse-a-Pail," a collapsible beach pail for easy carrying and storage.
Brush-Stern previously won $10,000 on a competition on the "Anderson Cooper" show to develop her original idea for "Collapse-a-Pail."
The public can vote once a day for Brush-Stern's invention in the Wal-Mart contest through Sept. 2.
In a YouTube pitch video, Brush-Stern said she got the idea from a collapsible cup her mother used to carry.
Each year Wal-Mart invites individuals and businesses to submit their products that they'd like the corporation to offer to their customers. The multi-stage contest includes opportunities for the public to make their voice heard through online voting and will feature finalist entrants in an original web series.
Winners will receive the opportunity to sell their product through Walmart.com and the grand champion(s) can additionally receive valuable marketing support.
