The market runs from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays through Oct. 15. The market is held at 316 Main St. on the grounds of the Historic Lounsbury House in downtown Ridgefield.
Melanie Mauldin, supervisor for the Ridgefield Community Center for the farmers market, invites the whole community to enjoy the farm-fresh items that are served up each week at the market.
“It’s really important that we have the community support to keep the market going as we hold it every Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. up until mid-October,” Mauldin said.
Vendors include a pasta maker from Fresh Pastabilities, Nick the Knife, Beldotti Bakeries, Artisanal Jams, Charlie’s All Natural Dog Treat Company, St Ex Speciality Farms, Hayfields, and many others.
The market also serves ip cooking classes for children ages 6 to 16 as well as classes for adults.
The next kids cooking class sponsored by ‘Cook It Up Kids,’ will be offered on July 30.
Bailey’s Back Yard restaurant offers one of its finest chefs to teach the adult cooking class.
Every week, the market offers something appealing to all walks of life. In the past, Ridgefield’s animal shelter ROAR has brought some of its animals that are up for adoption, and Police Officer Murray made an appearance with his K-9 partner.
