“Our customers have had a positive response to the artwork we’ve shown in the past,” said Laura Ancona, co-owner of Tusk & Cup, in a statement. “We’ve created a warm, welcoming gathering space here. Beautiful artwork contributes to that experience.”
The first show to be a part of this initiative features Redding painter and print maker Kim Hanna.
“Kim’s work looks gorgeous in Tusk & Cup; it’s the perfect early summer show,” says Jennifer Mathy, director of Watershed Gallery, in a statement.
Hanna's art has been said to "contain layers of color and recurring imagery that have a magical quality to them." She is originally from Pittsburgh and trained at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. She moved to Redding in 2002.
The Kim Hanna exhibition at Tusk & Cup runs through mid-August, and is the first in a series of rotating art shows that will also include artist talks and events.
“We’re so fortunate to have our first satellite gallery here. Tusk & Cup like a second home to a lot of people in the area, so it’s a great way for customers to envision of piece of artwork in their own home,” Mathy said.
