Gravitte, who has lived in Ridgefield, turns 60 on Monday. The actress and singer was born Sept. 29, 1954, in Los Angeles.
She has had a varied career, taking her from the Broadway stage to the Symphony Hall. She her Broadway debut in the chorus of "They're Playing Our Song" in 1979.
She has also appeared on Broadway in "Blues in the Night," "Zorba," "Les Misérables," "Chicago," and Jerome Robbins' "Broadway," for which she won the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She was nominated for the Drama Desk Award for "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" and the Frank Loesser revue "Perfectly Frank."
She recently appeared in the Broadway musical "Loving the Silent Tears," which premiered in 2012.
