RIDGEFIELD, Conn. --  There's a popular catch-phrase: “Know your farmers, know your food." And there's nowhere better to get up close and personal with your local purveyors than with a farmers market.

Vendors You’ll Find: From eight to 10 vendors, everything from homemade pasta to fresh-baked bread to pies, veggies, fruits and flowers. Among the more popular vendors: Nick the Knife guy who has a way with sharpening.

You'll also find Charlie and the Dog Treat Factory, Fresh Pastabilities, Simpaug Farms, Oronoque Farms Gift & Bakery, Do Re Me Farms, Hayfields, Beldotti Bakery, Conant Valley Jams, The Hickories, Honore’s Kitchen, Next Steps Living and Natural Scoop Ice Cream.

Of Special Note: The market is held on the grounds of the historic Lounsbury House.
