The shop — lined with shelf after shelf filled with colorful skeins of yarn — also offers knitting classes five days a week. Participants can work on a craft, enjoy conversations — and make lasting friendships.
A regular group of eight women always look forward to the cozy atmosphere of their Thursday morning class, led by instructor Missy Holmes.
The group's senior member, Marianne Zarnik of New Canaan, referred to herself as the “mother of the class” and called it a sisterhood.
What do they talk about when they get together? Anne McDermott of Ridgefield wouldn't divulge the details.
“What's said in knitting stays in knitting," she said.
