The keynote speaker for this year’s Ridgefield Writers Conference Open House is award-winner Hollis Seamon, author of the widely published and acclaimed young adult novel "Somebody Up There Hates You."
The open house also features readings and a Q & A with creative nonfiction author Sonya Huber, fiction author and writer Chris Belden, and essayist James M. Chesbro.
The wine and cheese networking reception will enable writers to mingle, learn more about the art and craft of writing, and provide feedback for next year’s conference. In addition to the featured speakers the Open House will feature representatives from Woodhall Press, an independent publisher for independent authors based in Norwalk.
The press's debut title is "Mentoring Teenage Heroes: The Hero’s Journey of Adolescence," by Matthew P. Winkler, whose viral TED-Ed lesson “What Makes a Hero?” has reached millions of viewers.
