Swim Lesson Registration for Non-Members Starts: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ridgefield Parks and Recreation offers American Red Cross swim lesson programs, helping students adjust to the water and as ability increases, students will learn essential skills and stroke development. Baby And Me: 11:30 a.m. to noon. A language enrichment program including songs, finger plays and books for caregivers with infants ages newborn to 12 months. Free. Ridgefield Library, 21 Governor St., Ridgefield.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

Kinder Ready Storytime for 4s and 5s: 10-11 a.m. Reinforcement of pre-reading skills  for school readiness, including read-aloud stories, phonemic awareness activities, songs, crafts and a short book-based film for children ages 4 and 5. Registration required. Free. Ridgefield Library, 21 Governor St., Ridgefield.

Painting Sessions With Jock MacRae: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A learning experience for students of all ages and levels with Instructor Jock MacRae’s painting sessions. Members: Four sessions $120, drop-in fee $40 per session. Non-members: Four sessions $145, drop-in fee $40 per session. Ridgefield Guild Of Artists, 34 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield.

Thursday, Aug. 29

Life Drawing - Drop In Studio Sessions: 7-9 p.m. A drop-in studio session for adults of all skill levels, live models are presented. Bring own supplies.
