What To Do In And Around Ridgefield This Week

Monday, Jan. 21

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: 3-4 p.m. Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi will begin the ceremony and president of the Ridgefield Clergy Association, the Rev. Charles Hambrick-Stowe of the Ridgefield Congregational Church, will speak in remembrance of King. Ridgefield Town Hall, 400 Main St. Ridgefield.

Tuesday, Jan. 22 Art Slide Lecture by Nancy Stahl: 11 a.m. Illustrator Nancy Stahl will discuss her work in viewing room 1 of White Hall. Open to the public. Western Connecticut State University Mid-Town Campus, 181 White St., Danbury.

Wednesday, Jan. 23 Play It Forward to Support the Rockaways: 4-6 p.m. Scotland Elementary School is having a giant tag sale to support their “sister school” P.S. 104. At the sale, Scotland will be selling the donated games and toys with 100 percent of the proceeds going to P.S. 104, families and staff. Scotland Elementary School 111 Barlow Mountain Road, Ridgefield.

Thursday, Jan. 24 Author Talk with Paul Bracken: 7-8 p.m. Ridgefielder Paul Bracken, a professor at Yale University, will be talking about his book regarding the changing face of global politics as nuclear weapons reemerge as a very real threat. Ridgefield Library, 21 Governor St., Ridgefield.
