The concert, part of the Lickety Split Tour, is at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. The group previously performed to a sold-out crowd at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
"Robert is a virtuoso pedal steel guitarist whose family band celebrates African-American music for the past 100 years in their latest album We Walk This Road," a press release said. "It’s American funk and soul at its finest when they deliver the message of hope through their uplifting beat and lyrics. The Randolph family sound is reminiscent of the funk and soul of Earth, Wind & Fire and Sly & the Family Stone."
The event is part of the Xfinity Rock Series. The Cutting Board Catering is offering 10 percent off breakfast or lunch the day of this show when tickets/stubs are presented.
"In concert, Randolph has an electrifying presence and typically dances all over the stage," a press release said. "During 'Shake Your Hips,' women are encouraged to join the Family on stage for a little dancing. The band typically trades off instruments to highlight their musical prowess – all in all a pretty cool concert. A microphone is occasionally passed around the front row of the audience, so people can sing during the song 'I Need More Love.'"
Tickets are $55 for orchestra seating, $50 for mezzanine and balcony seating and $65 for Gold Circle seating. Residents can call the box office at 203-438-5795, or buy tickets online at the Ridgefield Playhouse website.
