Ridgefield Playhouse Welcomes Felix Cavaliere's Rascals

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer Felix Cavaliere and his Rascals return to The Ridgefield Playhouse with their popular music on Friday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m.

Cavaliere's Rascals will feature some of the original rock group’s most popular hits that have become part of American songbook.  The event is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor B107.3fm. Felix Cavaliere & The Rascals were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, the highest recognition a band/musician can receive, and they were also inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame in 2010.

Felix Cavaliere, who became famous for his distinctive rock and “blue-eyed” soul sound, was a member of Joey Dee and The Starliters who gave us “Peppermint Twist”. He went on to form The Young Rascals, who later became The Rascals. Felix sang lead on most of the tracks and co-wrote their biggest hit, “People Got to Be Free” with Eddie Brigati, which topped the charts for five weeks. An accomplished musician, Felix studied piano and discovered the Hammond organ, which became his “trademark sound” along with his one-of-a-kind voice. Cavaliere’s distinguished career as a solo artist is marked by the hit “Only A Lonely Heart Sees” which made number 36 in the Billboard Pop 100 chart, and he has released six albums including the 2010 Midnight Flyer. 

To make going to the Playhouse even more special, Gallo Ristorante will pour a complimentary glass of house wine with dinner the night of the show when ticket is presented.
