The walk will be at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Hemlock Hills Open Space on Bogus Road. It is free for center members and $7 for non-members. All ages welcome.
Join the center's staff for an easy stroll through Hemlock Hills Open Space while they discuss what makes one bird a local while another is just a summer or winter time resident. The staff will spend time talking about the migratory species of birds so you can learn why they migrate, where they go and when they will return.
Participants also will look for some interesting fall migrants as they stop by this wooded property to refuel for their long trip south.
Please bring binoculars if you have them (or borrow a pair of ours). Sturdy shoes and a bottle of water - tick/insect repellent is suggested.
