In this Ridgefield Academy Families Series event, Dr. Seuss’s best-loved stories collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper.

Support for this show comes from Books on the Common and the Ridgefield Library. Before or after this event, visit Dimitri’s Diner at 16 Prospect St., Ridgefield, and receive 10 percent off the bill when tickets are presented.

Kids can get their picture taken with Scooby Doo in the lobby before the show courtesy of partial underwriters South Salem Animal Hospital and Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital.

This production features 10 actors and enhanced production values and is Theatreworks’ biggest show. The Cat in the Hat is the host and emcee (and all-around mischief-maker) in this romp through the Seuss classics.

One day, Horton the elephant hears a cry from help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. The speck of dust turns out to be home to the Whos, who live in Whoville. Among those Whos, child Jojo finds himself at “butter battling military school” for thinking to many “thinks.” Horton’s attention to the speck of dust and his loitering care of Mayzie LaBird’s egg elicits taunting from the rest of the animal kingdom, except for Gertrude McFuzz, who longs for his attention, and JoJo whose “thinks” save them all in the end.

"Seussical," with music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, book by Ahrens and Flaherty and conception by Ahrens, Flaherty and Eric Idle, was adapted from the works of Dr. Seuss. The production is directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children. Click here or call the box office at 203-438-5795 to purchase tickets.

The Ridgefield Playhouse is located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street.
