This small orchestra features co-lead singers China Forbes and Storm Large along with dozens of musicians who perform a multilingual repertoire. Founded by Thomas Lauderdale in 1994, Pink Martini has played around the globe. Their song “Sympathique” won praise in France where it was nominated for Song of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique Awards.
The group has collaborated and performed with numerous artists, including Jimmy Scott, Carol Channing, Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Henri Salvador, Georges Moustaki, Michael Feinstein, Hiroshi Wada and Alba Clemente.
Joining them on the stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse will be The Von Trapps. No. 109 Cheese and Wine will host a wine tasting at the lobby of the Ridgefield Playhouse at 7: 15 p.m. for a reception with local artist Florence Notte. Tom Tom’s at 417 Main St. will pour a complimentary glass of wine with dinner when tickets are presented.
