Lead Singer Reunites With Lonestar For Ridgefield Playhouse Performance

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Original lead singer Richie McDonald reunites with Lonestar as the country artists head to The Ridgefield Playhouse for a concert on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 8 p.m.

The four good old boys from Texas are known for their country hits “I’m Already There,” “No News,” “Come Crying to Me,” “Amazed” and more.

Lonestar merges country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals, making them chart toppers for the past 20 years.

Known for three decades of picture-painting, story-based, tear-your-heart-out lyrics, the guys have reunited with original lead singer McDonald. Special guest is Jeff LeBlanc, a folk-rock indie singer/songwriter whose talents have taken him on tours throughout the East Coast.

After years bouncing around playing in small clubs and bars, Lonestar landed a recording contract in 1995 with their self-titled debut album and the Top 10 single “Tequila Talkin.’”

Lonestar’s third album, "Lonely Grill," became certified multi-Platinum in both the United States and Canada and propelled the group to stardom. Through it all, Lonestar has remained blue collar, self-described as “just four good old boys from Texas — no matter how much success we had, it didn’t change us as people.”

The evening kicks off with a Cabo Wabo Tequila tasting in the lobby at 7:15 p.m. for all ticket holders.

For tickets ($67), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or order online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.

To make it an even sweeter night out, the Ancient Mariner at 451 Main St., Ridgefield, will pour a free glass of house wine or draft beer with dinner the night of the show when a ticket is presented.
