Guest Chefs This Month At Ridgefield Farmers Market

RIDGEFIELD, N.Y. -- The farmers market at the Ridgefield Community Center at Lounsbury House will have guest chefs every Wednesday this month.

From 3-5 p.m., the chefs will offer cooking demonstrations and tastings, as well as take-home recipes for some great fall dishes. The market is from 2-6 p.m. 316 Main St, Ridgefield. It features items from:

Butterfield Farm Company, Suffield.
Garden Of Ideas, Ridgefield.
Riverbank Farm, Roxbury.
The Hickories, Ridgefield.
Wave Hill Breads, Norwalk.
Whistle Stop Bakery, Ridgefield.

The guest chef lineup includes:

Oct. 9 and 30: Forrest Pasternack – Bailey’s Backyard. This downtown restaurant has been a local dining spo since opening in 1999. Last year, Owner Sal Bagliavio and Pasternack revamped the New American menu, taking a new farm-to-table approach.

Oct. 16: Wirt Cook – Redding Roadhouse. With a background that includes cooking alongside Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, Cook has created an American Tavern in this New England destination that speaks to modern day sustainable food culture.

Oct. 23: Scott Ostrander – Mama’s Boy. Low-country cuisine is at the heart of this “Southern Table and Refuge” in SoNo. Mama’s Boy offers land and sea favorites, as well as creative cocktails that even the most discerning Southern belles and good ol’ boys would be proud to serve.
