Electrifying Guitarists Bring Their Bands To The Ridgefield Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Two electrifying guitarists and their bands – Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band and Robert Randolph & The Family Band – will join forces for one explosive night at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, June 15, at 8 p.m.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd has sold millions of albums worldwide, earned five Grammy nominations, two Billboard Music Awards, two Orville H. Gibson Awards, the Blues Foundation’s Keeping The Blues Alive Award and two Blues Music Awards, among many other accolades.

Shepherd has produced six No. 1 blues albums and a string of No. 1 mainstream rock tunes. He is widely considered to be one of the best blues/rock guitarists alive. James Brown once referred to young Kenny Wayne as “one of the wonders of the world.” In 2008, Fender released the guitar that Shepherd designed -- the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Stratocaster. His latest record, "Goin’ Home" (released by Concord Records on May 20) features Ringo Starr, Warren Haynes, Joe Walsh and Robert Randolph.

Joining Shepherd is the explosive musical energy of Robert Randolph & The Family Band, currently touring in support of its acclaimed new album, "Lickety Split," which features guest appearances by Trombone Shorty and Carlos Santana. Randolph is on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list.
