The 8 p.m. event will be at the New Pond Farm Observatory, 101 Marchant Road, West Redding. It's $4 for members and $6 for non-members. All ages are welcome.

The program will point out some major points of interest in the summertime night sky. A prominent feature is the three stars of the "Summer Triangle" -- Vega, Altair and Deneb, which are in separate constellations, Cyprus the Swan, Aquila the Eagle and Lyra, respectively.

A hero, dragon, dolphin and of course a couple of bears are up there too. Saturn and its moons is another show stopper along with Venus. Come learn about some of the nightly mysteries that are always right above our heads.

Dress appropriately and bring a flashlight for the walk from parking area to the observatory. Occasionally pictures can be taken through our equipment with your I-phone. It depends on conditions and equipment.

Please park at the Ridgefield Discovery Center's lot and walk to the observatory.

This program is co-sponsored by New Pond Farm.
