The night will showcase the group's classic folk, rock and country songs, including their most famous single, The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" along with "Blue Moon Revisited," which is both a cover and an original, combining one of their new songs with the pop standard "Blue Moon".
The Cowboy Junkies were formed in Toronto in 1985 after guitarist and songwriter Michael Timmins and longtime friend and musical partner, bassist Alan Anton, recruited Michael’s sister, singer Margo Timmins, and brother, drummer Peter Timmins, to join them. Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and others have provided the inspiration for the band’s music.
For more than 20 years, the Cowboy Junkies have remained true to their unique artistic vision and to the introspective, quiet intensity that is their musical signature, creating a critically acclaimed body of original work that has endeared them to an audience unwavering in its loyalty. The band has appeared on countless major television shows from "Saturday Night Live" to "Late Night with David Letterman" and the "Tonight Show."
