Known for the indelible cowbell in “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and smash hits such as “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ for You,” Blue Öyster Cult will rock hard at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
The pioneering hard rock band has used sci-fi and occult imagery in its music to help sell more than 14 million albums worldwide and to be ranked No. 55 on VH1’s The 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. When BÖC appeared at the Playhouse in past seasons, the show has been sold out. Special guest is Doug Wahlberg Band, a rock-blues band with an international following.
Bar & Grille on 7 (967 Ethan Allen Highway, Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of this event when tickets/stubs are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 additional per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors d’oeuvres and priority parking is available for this show.
This show is part of the Xfinity Rock Series.
Lead vocalist Eric Bloom’s personality and power drive the songs, and his compositions “The Old Gods Return” and “Eye of the Hurricane” are standouts on the band's album "Curse of the Hidden Mirror."
Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser is on guitar and vocals with a voice that is responsible for the signature “BÖC” sound. He wrote “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper” and “Burnin’ for You.” Award-winning songwriter Richie Castellano plays bass, guitar and keyboards. Jules Radino is on drums. The fifth band member is Rudy Sarzo on bass, who has played with the many hard rock and metal artists.
For tickets ($70), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or buy tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
