For over two decades, Hart has thrilled audiences with her live performances and songwriting.

"It has been no secret over the years that Hart's greatest wealth of inspiration has come from intense periods of struggle in her life, from the loss of her sister to AIDS, to drug use and family strife, to an eventual bipolar diagnosis that was both frightening and liberating," a news release notes.

"And on face value, her new album, 'Better Than Home,' is saying, 'anything is better than those demons, so I'm gonna go out of my way to create something better than that.'"

In addition to solo albums, Hart has also recorded two albums with blues icon Joe Bonamassa, "Don't Explain" and "Seesaw." The latter was nominated for a Grammy and Hart was nominated for a Blues Music Award for her performance.

She has also toured with Jeff Beck. In 2012, she appeared with him at the Kennedy Center Honors to celebrate Buddy Guy and his remarkable musical legacy with Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind." That performance received one of only two standing ovations that night -- led by President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

Before the show, visit Tom Tom's for dinner -- at 417 Main St., in Ridgefield -- and enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine with your entrée, when you present your tickets.

Tickets are $57.50: call the box office at 203-438-5795, or buy them here. The show begins at 8 p.m.

The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, in Ridgefield.
