Car Vs. Pedestrian Crash Closes Exit 11 Of I-84 In Newtown

NEWTOWN, Conn. —  The off-ramp for Exit 11 on the eastbound side of I-84 in Newtown was closed Tuesday morning due to an accident, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. 

The crash, reported at about 9 a.m., involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to DOT. 

Connecticut State Police said the pedestrian was struck on the ramp and has life-threatening injuries. 

The ramp will be closed for an extended time for investigation, state police said. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes in that area. 

Exit 11 is for Route 34/Wasserman Way.
