Support Swells For 29-Year-Old Heart Transplant Recipient From Stamford A community in Fairfield County is coming together to support the family of a 29-year-old heart transplant recipient as he recovers from his surgery.  Stamford resident Mateo Gallego, age 29, became the recipient of a new heart after experiencing chest pain on Monday, May 15. The crash took place in New Haven around 8:30 p.m., Sunday, April 2, at the entrance to the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge, according to Connecticut State Police. One Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-91 A 41-year-old man was the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash after losing control of a tractor-trailer on I-91. Ashley L. Bennett, of Uniondale on Long Island was killed around 4:43 a.m. Friday near Exit 14 in Wallingford, said the Connecticut State Police. According to the police report, Bennett was traveling northbound on I-91 in the right lane when he swerved off the right shoulder and down the grassy embankment.
