5-Year-Old Boy Remains In Critical Condition After Near Drowning In River
A 5-year-old boy who was pulled from the Connecticut River in Middlesex County this weekend remained in critical condition a day later, authorities said. Police were called to a stretch of the river near Landing Road in Haddam on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26, when the boy and a man fell from a kayak into the water, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. CT Woman, 37, Found Dead Floating In Quinnipiac River
Police in Connecticut are investigating after a 37-year-old woman's body was found dead floating in the water of the Quinnipiac River. New Haven Police Officer Christian Bruckhart said the incident occurred in New Haven around 7:50 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, near Brewery Square. Bruckhart said the New Haven Fire Department responded with water rescue, and the body was located near James Street and River Streets along the embankment. Man Missing In Water Rescued By Fairfield County Police
A Fairfield County man was rescued from the water by police after he was reported missing. The incident took place around 6 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Westport, said Lt. David Wolf, of the Westport Police. According to Wold, Westport Police officers responded to Saugatuck Shores on a report of an elderly male who was missing. A teen who has been missing since last year has been identified as the person pulled from a frozen Connecticut pond. Brandon Jenkins, age 18, was found Saturday, Jan. 30, when a passerby called 911 to report a body in the ice-covered Duck Pond of Edgewood Park in New Haven, New Haven Police said. Man Pronounced Dead Shortly After Being Pulled From Lake In Litchfield County
A man was pronounced dead at an area hospital shortly after he was pulled from a lake in Litchfield County. Litchfield County Dispatched received a 911 report at around 6 p.m. Sunday, July 5 from a woman in Plymouth reporting she could no longer see a man who had been swimming in Lake Winfield in the area of Seymour Road and that she believed he was underwater. Members of the Terryville Fire Department performed a water rescue and pulled the man from the water, Plymouth Police said. Five Rescued After Jet Ski, Kayak Overturn At Seaside Park
Five people were rescued by police after a Jet Ski capsized and three people in a canoe attempted to rescue them became stranded. The incident took place around 5:45 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Motorists Trapped In Flooded Waters Rescued By Firefighters
Stamford firefighters were kept on the run rescuing residents in flooded vehicles late Thursday afternoon through the evening after a line of heavy thunderstorms rolled through the area causing extensive flooding.
