Norwalk Police 'Imploring' Residents To Lock Cars After 87 Thefts
Police in Fairfield County are "imploring" residents to lock their vehicles after seeing a large number of car thefts. Since Sunday, Jan. 1, there have been 87 motor vehicles stolen from different residents within the City of Norwalk, said Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police. Of those, 55 vehicles had the keys left in the car, Podgorski said. Norwalk Police Officers continue to work diligently to arrest suspects in these cases and locate the vehicles, he said. Four Vehicles Stolen, 15 Break-Ins In Past Four Days Reports One Fairfield County Town
A Fairfield County town is asking residents to lock their vehicles and remove key fobs after four vehicles have been stolen since Saturday, May 1. The vehicles were all stolen from Westport, and in all instances, the vehicles were unlocked and the keys were left in the cars, said Lieutenant David Wolf. In addition, Wolf said the department has also responded to 15 vehicle break-ins over the past five days. Increase In Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles Reported In Norwalk
Norwalk Police report that they have been experiencing an uptick in unlocked vehicle being entered during the overnight hours throughout the city. The police department issued a reminder that residents lock their vehicles, remove all valuables as well as the keys/fobs.
