Storm Knocks Out Power To Hundreds In Fairfield County, Thousands In Connecticut
Thousands of Connecticut residents are without power as a nasty storm with whipping winds and heavy downpours rolls through the region.
As of 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 9,582 Eversource and United Illuminating customers were reporting outages, down slightly from earlier in the day as crews work to restore power throughout the state.
United Illuminating is reporting a total of 5,154 of their 335,073 customers are reporting outages stemming from 515 incidents.

Danbury Officials Issue New Update On Storm Recovery
All hands are on deck in Danbury as crews continue working around the clock to clean up from Tuesday’s storm as more than 3,000 local residents remain without power.
Officials said the northern end of the city in the Candlewood Lake area took the brunt of the storm, with fire, police, paramedics, DPW and utility companies working diligently to restore Danbury back to normal.
As of 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 34,672 of Eversource’s 1,270,056 customers - including 3,673 in Danbury - remain without power, with an estimated restoration date of approximately midnight.

Thousands of residents and businesses in Connecticut remain without power including nearly 11,000 in the Danbury area, one of the hardest hit when a line of storms ripped through the area on Tuesday.
Eversource officials said that across the state there are a total of 86,961 without power.

Eversource Takes To The Sky To Check For Storm Damage In Bethel, Newtown
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — After last week’s blizzard, Eversource is surveying high-voltage power lines around the state with helicopters, checking for any storm damage that may threaten electric reliability. The flights will continue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Helicopters will survey these towns: Bethel, Bridgeport, Brookfield, Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, Newtown, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford Weston, and Wilton as well as other areas out state.
