Amid the holiday season, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont has laid out new guidelines for travelers planning to head into the Nutmeg State. Lamont announced over the weekend that the state's COVID-19 travel advisory has been revised to apply to all travelers domestic and foreign who are entering Connecticut from any area outside of neighboring New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. The new advisory became effective at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19. A Connecticut Congressman recently announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19. On Sunday, Nov. 22, U.S. Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) said that he was inadvertently exposed sometime last week by someone who was unknowingly carrying the virus. U.S. Rep. Courtney's Second District includes much of the eastern part of the state and includes most if not all of Tolland, Windham, and New London counties as well as parts of New Haven, Middlesex, and Hartford counties. Officials in Stamford are alerting residents about a potential spike in COVID-19 cases. The City of Stamford’s Department of Health said it was notified that a COVID-19 early warning wastewater system detected a potential increase in cases of COVID-19 in Stamford.
