Greenwich Schools Threat Likely 'Swatting' Incident, Police Say
A threat to schools in a Fairfield County town has been deemed a swatting incident by officials. The incident took place on Tuesday, Oct. 17 when police became aware of a vague threat through social media directed against the Greenwich School System and one of the town’s middle schools. A third Connecticut school is sheltering in place following a social media threat. The latest threat, in New Haven County, was directed at Crosby High School in Waterbury. A middle school student has been charged with making a terroristic threat after threatening to shoot up his school in New York while making a reference to the recent Uvalde, Texas massacre. A Connecticut juvenile has been arrested for allegedly posting a threatening social media post targeting a school in the region.
