1 Dead In Fire At CT Family-Owned Apple Orchard Firefighters found a man dead inside a Connecticut home on Friday morning, Dec. 20, following an early morning fire at a New London County family-owned orchard, authorities said.  The fire was reported shortly before 3:30 a.m. at 20 Kitemaug Road in Montville, and multiple other agencies were soon called to assist in battling the blaze, the Norwich Fire Department reported. Horses Rescued After Trailer Overturns Two horses were saved after the trailer they were being hauled in was involved in a multi-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 7:42 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 on the Interstate 395-Route 32 connector in Waterford, according to the Cohanzie Fire Company.
