Driver Pulled To Safety After Car Slams Into Tree In Fiery Crash Near Route 25/8 Connector Two police officers saved a person who was trapped in a burning vehicle following a crash into a tree. The crash took place around 4 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Bridgeport after the driver of a vehicle slammed into a tree on Chopsey Hill Road near the Route 25/8 connector, said Scott Appleby, director of Bridgeport's Office of Emergency Management.  When Bridgeport Police officers arrived on the scene they found that a female victim was trapped inside the burning vehicle, Appleby said.
