Stop Of Speeding BMW In Darien Leads To DUI Charge For Stamford Man, Police Say A Fairfield County man driving a beaten-up BMW nearly double the posted speed limit while allegedly drunk in Darien was arrested over the weekend. An officer on patrol near the intersection of Hoyt Street and Woodway Road at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 spotted a BMW driving at approximately 55 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. When the vehicle passed the officer on Hoyt Street, one of the headlamps fell off, and a traffic stop was conducted.
