Weekend Closure Of Hutchinson River Parkway Stretch Scheduled
Officials have issued an alert to motorists in Westchester County about the planned closure of a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway. The New York State Department of Transportation reported that the parkway will be closed in both directions from Exit 4A (Interstate 95) in Pelham Manor to Exit 8 (Cross County Parkway) in New Rochelle. There were 21 new deaths ties to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Westchester in the past 24 hours as the death toll creeps toward 1,000.Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced that there have now been 28,245 positive COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, April 28, with 8,054 still active. There have now been a total of 983 Westchester residents who died since the outbreak began 59 days ago. Latimer said that there are still 868 Westchester residents still hospitalized with COVID-19, while the hospitalization rate for COVID-19 continues to hold relatively steady at 10.5 percent. …

Two Arrested, Handgun Recovered After Vehicle Stop, Foot Pursuit On Hutchinson River Parkway
Westchester County Police, assisted by Pelham Manor Police, arrested two men Tuesday who fled from a traffic stop on the Hutchinson River Parkway and attempted to elude officers in their car and then on foot. The two men were captured by county and village officers following a foot pursuit through streets and backyards in Pelham Manor. A handgun was recovered, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. BJ’s Will Offer Chainwide Instacart Delivery
BJ’s Wholesale Club is making shopping easier for East Coast shoppers, announcing its intention to expand its same-day delivery partnership with Instacart. Officials from the popular retailer announced this week that it will now offer the service to all of its membership clubs no later than the end of April, following a lengthy pilot program at 18 stores in the region, a spokesperson said.
