One of the most accomplished athletes to ever play high school sports in the Hudson Valley is moving to the front office.After a 17-year NBA career, 1997 Peekskill High School graduate Elton Brand is expected to be named general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. Two From Fairfield County Nabbed For Impaired Driving In NY
With local and state police agencies cracking down on drunk, drugged and distracted driving, several local residents were among nearly two dozen in the area who found themselves on the wrong side of the law. As part of the STOP-DWI crackdown, State Police troopers busted several motorists for driving while intoxicated as they attempt to stop motorists from drinking and driving in the area. Police Search For BMW With CT Plates In Westchester Pedestrian Hit-Run
Police are searching for a black BMW with Connecticut license plates that struck a pedestrian and fled the area in Peekskill. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday at Washington and Franklin streets. Peekskill police are not releasing any further information, including the condition of the person struck, other than the incident is under investigation. This is a developing story. Nearly two dozen area motorists were among those busted by State and local law enforcement agencies have made a concerted effort to curtail impaired drivers in the Hudson Valley as part of a drinking and driving crackdown throughout the state. Storm Watch: Latest Update On Timing, Projected Snow/Ice Totals Did you feel it? A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was reported early Wednesday morning near the Northern Westchester/Putnam about 3 miles north, northwest of Mohegan Lake. The earthquake was reported at 6:14 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Danbury Drivers Among Those Charged With DWI During Weekend Stops
More than a dozen Hudson Valley motorists were among those busted by New York State Police troopers over the weekend for driving while impaired on local roadways. Since the holiday season, New York State Police and local law enforcement agencies were “out in full force” to curtail impaired drivers in the region.
