Police Seek Possible Witnesses To Crash Under Investigation In Bethel
See anything? Police in Bethel are seeking the public’s assistance as they continue their investigation into a crash at the intersection of Payne Road and Shelter Rock Road on Thursday, Dec. 20. According to police, the cause of the crash remains under investigation and no injuries were initially reported. No motorist has been identified by investigators. Police Arrest Bethel Man Found With Damaged, Bloody Car At Gas Station
BETHEL, Conn. — A 32-year-old Bethel man was arrested just after midnight on New Year's Day after he was found drunk and driving a damaged car with blood on it at a gas station, police said. Officers were called to the Food Bag at 77 Greenwood Ave. at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 1, police said. They found the driver — identified as Matthew Mistal of 40 Linda Lane — who said he had "hit something on Payne Road" but did not report it, police said. Police later determined that he had hit a guardrail. The blood on the vehicle was determined to be Mistal's, police said. He also told officers …
