New York State Police troopers on patrol at approximately 9 p.m. on April 14 conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 GMC being driven by Waterbury resident Kurtis Leduc, 36, on I-684 in Southeast for a series of vehicle and traffic law violations. Man Displayed Fake Police Shield In I-84 Stop, State PD Says A Connecticut man is facing charges in Putnam County after allegedly attempting to dupe New York State Police troopers with a fake police ID after he was stopped for a vehicle violation in his Mercedes on I-84 in Southeast. Troopers initiated the stop at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Monday night, when Waterbury resident Robert McLean committed an alleged vehicle and traffic law violation on the interstate.
