Drunk Driver Nabbed After Striking Guard Rail, Fleeing Scene In Wilton: Police
A 47-year-old woman faces several charges after crashing into a guard rail in Fairfield County while drunk and driving away from the scene before eventually being caught, police announced. The incident happened on Wednesday, Dec. 20 around 9:30 p.m., when a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ridgefield resident Paula Carter, age 47, was traveling north on Danbury Road by the intersection with Olmstead Hill Road in Wilton and struck a guardrail, according to Wilton Police. Man Accused Of Pointing Firearm In Wilton Road-Rage Incident Caught In Ridgefield, Police Say
A driver allegedly threatened someone with a gun in a road-rage incident in Wilton then got nabbed by cops in Ridgefield, according to Wilton Police. On Friday, Aug. 16 at about 7:15 a.m., police responded to the area of Danbury Road and Mountain Road in Wilton on a report of the incident, police said. Head-On Crash Leads To Hours-Long Route 7 Closure
This story has been updated. A stretch of Route 7 was closed for four hours Friday morning following a serious two-vehicle head-on crash. The northbound closure occurred just north of Wilton High School between Olmstead Hill Road and Route 107/Route 57/School Street. The roadway reopened around 11 a.m. following an accident investigation. The crash occurred around 7 a.m. in New Street.
