The Connecticut House overwhelmingly approved a bill 124-22 that will increase from 18 to 21 the minimum age to purchase such products. The bill now heads to the Senate. Smoke Sale Age Raised To 21 In Bridgeport Bridgeport has become the second city in Connecticut to pass legislation making it more difficult for children and teenagers to purchase tobacco products. The Bridgeport City Council passed a policy on Tuesday that raised the age of sale of tobacco products only to customers over the age of 21. The new ordinance comes on the heels of Hartford passing similar legislation late last year. Other communities in Connecticut are reportedly considering similar policies.
