Motorists Trapped In Flooded Waters Rescued By Firefighters Stamford firefighters were kept on the run rescuing residents in flooded vehicles late Thursday afternoon through the evening after a line of heavy thunderstorms rolled through the area causing extensive flooding. The Stamford 911 Center began receiving calls at 4:54 p.m. Thursday, for people trapped in flooded cars at the intersection of East Main Street and Myrtle Avenue, underneath the Railroad underpass, said Stamford Fire Capt.
