Bridgeport Man Who Stripped Teen Naked, Shot Him Mulitple Times Sentenced
A Bridgeport man who had been on the run for more than five years has been sentenced for the brutal 2017 murder of a teen.
Jahmari Cooper, age 23, of Bridgeport, was sentenced Wednesday, April 12 to 45 years in prison for the October 11, 2017 gunshot murder of Jeri Kollock, Jr., age 18, in the Green Homes Housing Project in Bridgeport, said Fairfield Judicial District State’s Attorney Joseph Corradino.
Cooper was found guilty of the murder in February by a jury.
In addition to the 45-year prison sentence, the judge sentenced Cooper to 10 years of special parole.

Bridgeport Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two teenagers who were with a 17-year-old accused in the murder of a Chinese food delivery man.
Justin Castro, of Bridgeport, is charged with killing Jiabin Lin, age 36, of Flushing, Queens, on Saturday, March 4 in a parking lot, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.

A man wanted for killing his wife and injuring his son in Connecticut committed suicide when stopped by police out of state.
New Haven County resident Solomon Roberts Sr., age 44, of Waterbury, died when stopped by Virginia State Police around 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 7, said Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police.

A 17-year-old teenager who allegedly gunned down a Chinese food delivery man has been identified after his case was moved to adult court.
The case against Justin Castro, of Bridgeport, was transferred to adult court on Tuesday, March 7, for killing Jiabin Lin, age 36, of Flushing, Queens, Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.
