A Norwalk Police officer was recently named Officer of the Month for tracking down a suspect who attempted to steal a woman's purse as she was putting her baby in a car seat. Officer Ramon Tejada came to the rescue on Friday, May 31, when the woman was walking to her vehicle with her seven-month-old child on North Water Street, said the Norwalk Police Department. Hit-Run Driver Turns Self In After Pedestrian Struck In Norwalk
Norwalk police are investigating a hit-and-run in which the driver fled the scene and then later called the police to admit to the crime. The incident took place around 3:18 a.m., Sunday, May 5, when officers responded to North Main Street at Marshall Street for a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake. Arriving officers located the pedestrian lying in the street and determined that the vehicle had fled the scene, Blake said.
