A Connecticut man is facing multiple animal cruelty charges after police found malnourished pets and the decaying remains of a dog inside his home, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Tyler Grimes, 40, of Goshen, was arrested following a welfare check at his home. When officers arrived, they noted the property was in severe disrepair, with overgrown landscaping and ajar doors. A strong odor of decay prompted them to enter, where they discovered unsanitary and unsafe living conditions.

A Connecticut woman is facing multiple charges after police found several sick dogs she had been paid to train stuck in crates with little food or water, which led to one of their deaths, authorities said.
Middlesex County resident Josephine Ragland, age 28, of Haddam, who is charged with four counts of animal abuse, turned herself in to police on Monday, Sept. 16, Connecticut State Police said. Her mother, Jacqueline Witt, was arrested last week in the case.
