Man Surrenders After Causing Four-Vehicle Crash While Under Influence, New Canaan Police Say A 21-year-old Norwalk man was arrested after surrending to the police for his part in a four-vehicle crash in May. Lee Berlin Charles was arrested on Monday, Sept. 23, on charges of DUI, reckless driving, inferring with an officer and driving with a suspended license for a crash that occurred on May 25 on Smith Ridge Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. When officers responded to the crash, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Charles as he told them he was not the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, Ferraro said.
