CT Man Nabbed Breaking Into Shop After Chase A Connecticut man is behind bars after allegedly being caught inside burglarizing a smoke shop. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 10 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, at the LVL Up Smoke Shop in Meriden. According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, a patrol officer responded to the store after receiving a burglar alarm notice. K9 Sammy, who is certified with the National Police Canine Association, was welcomed to the department on Monday, Sept. 16. She is also certified with the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association as an Explosive Detection Police Service Dog and a certified Military Working Dog with the Department of Defense.
