Fairfield Police Department Welcomes New K9 Officer
The Fairfield Police Department has welcomed a new furry friend to its K9 team. K9 Sammy, who is certified with the National Police Canine Association, was welcomed to the department on Monday, Sept. 16. She is also certified with the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association as an Explosive Detection Police Service Dog and a certified Military Working Dog with the Department of Defense. K9 Officer Helps Catch Teen Suspect On I-84 After Car Stolen In Danbury
A State Police K9 helped troopers nab a suspected car thief after he helped track down the man as he ran following a pursuit that ended with his tires flattened by stop sticks. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when state police received a report of a stolen car in Danbury. Troopers were able to quickly track down the 2017 Honda Pilot as it passed Exit 14 on I-84, according to a state police report. Narcotics, Cash Seized Following Vehicle Stop Near Fairfield County Border
A Connecticut State Police canine led the way during an early morning traffic stop on Route 114 that led to the arrest of two men who were in possession of nearly $2,500 cash, cocaine and other drugs.
