Ridgefield Man Attempts To Set Fire To Hospital In New Canaan, Police Say
A Ridgefield man has been charged with allegedly breaking windows with a baseball bat and attempting to set fire to a hospital in New Canaan. Darren Yu Huang, age 23, was arrested by New Canaan Police on Tuesday, March 7, for the incident which took place on Monday, Feb. 20 at Silver Hill Hospital. Officers responded to the hospital around 6 p.m. after receiving a report of an individual with a baseball bat breaking windows and pouring gasoline around one of the buildings of the hospital campus, said Lt. Newtown Carjacking Suspect Nabbed After Pursuit
A Fairfield County man was charged with armed carjacking after stealing a BMW sedan at gunpoint and then fleeing from state police. The incident began in Newtown around 10:55 a.m., Thursday, April 14, when state police were notified that an armed carjacking had just taken place. The vehicle was spotted by troopers traveling on I 84 east by Exit 14 in New Haven County in Southbury shortly after the incident occurred, Connecticut State Police said. Man Who Pulls Off Merritt Parkway Caught With Loaded BB Gun, Police Say
A routine traffic stop led to a weapons charge for a 20-year-old who ran a red light with a BB gun in the back seat in New Canaan. An officer from the New Canaan Police Department on patrol at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning spotted a vehicle traveling off exit 36 of the Merritt Parkway fail to obey a red light, turning right without making a complete stop before turning south onto Old Stamford Road, prompting the traffic stop.
