Police Arrest Bethel Man Found With Damaged, Bloody Car At Gas Station BETHEL, Conn. — A 32-year-old Bethel man was arrested just after midnight on New Year's Day after he was found drunk and driving a damaged car with blood on it at a gas station, police said.   Officers were called to the Food Bag at 77 Greenwood Ave. at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 1, police said.  They found the driver — identified as Matthew Mistal of 40 Linda Lane — who said he had "hit something on Payne Road" but did not report it, police said.  Police later determined that he had hit a guardrail. The blood on the vehicle was determined to be Mistal's, police said.
