A late-night fire tore through a Connecticut home this week, sending one person to the hospital and displacing 15 people, authorities said. Driver Jumps Out Of Passing Car To Help Resident Who Escaped From CT House Fire
A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour. According to Seymour Fire Marshal Timothy Willis, when firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and an injured resident who had "self-evacuated." A 5,500-square-foot Fairfield County home received significant damage following a fire. The fire broke out around 9:03 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, at a home on Hemlock Drive in Greenwich, said Greenwich Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kick. The deputy chief arrived on the scene within four minutes and reported heavy smoke showing from the single-family, three-story home, Kick said. Fire Damages Bridgeport Home
A Bridgeport home was badly damaged after a fire ripped through the residence. The fire began around midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 140 Marilyn Drive, in Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, a spokesman for the fire department. Responding fire units reported a heavy fire in the ranch-style home. The couple who lived at the home were alerted by smoke alarms and were able to safely escape, Jones said. Bridgeport firefighters had the fire under control within 45 minutes, he added. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal.

Firefighters were able to contain a garage fire, saving a Trumbull home in the process. The fire broke out around 11 p.m. at the home on Glenwood Drive in Trumbull on Thursday, Feb. 21, Long Hill Volunteer Fire officials said on Facebook. A Norwalk family escaped injury when a fire started in the ceiling of their home Wednesday evening. Police aren't sure who was watching a 5-year-old boy seen by a passing motorist on Soundview Avenue climbing out a second-floor window and hopping onto the roof to play. Sgt. FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A fire broke out in the laundry room of a Fairfield home on Saturday, but quick action by the homeowner kept it from spreading, according to the Fairfield Fire Department.
