4 Historic CT Homes Moving To Make Way For Parking Garage
If you think you are seeing things when four historic homes roll by you on a Connecticut roadway, don't worry. They are being moved to make room for a new 9-story parking garage. The move will occur in Hartford on Thursday, Aug. 29, causing traffic to be a mess in certain parts of town. Community Rallies To Save Historic Building From Demolition In Stamford
Nearly 1,500 have signed a Change.org petition to save three buildings in Stamford's South End National Register Historic District that are slated for demolition in six months. Longtime Resident Leaves $600K To Help Preserve Weston History
A 177-year-old Fairfield County farmhouse is getting a facelift courtesy of a longtime Weston resident’s charitable trust. The Weston Historical Society recently received a pair of grants from the Daniel E. Offutt Charitable Trust totaling $600,000. New York State Homes and Community Renewal and Wilder Balter Partners announced the completion of a $21 million affordable housing development in the Chappaqua section of the Town of New Castle. Sunrise Senior Living Saves Historic Wilton Barn Before Construction Starts
WILTON, Conn. — Young’s Nursery is gone, but a historic 19th-century barn on the Wilton property will be saved and donated to the Wilton Historical Society.
