The fire marshal's office is investigating an early morning blaze at a Fairfield County home that was undergoing renovations. The fire took place in Greenwich early Thursday, Nov. 10 at the home on Palmer Hill Road. The Greenwich Fire Department said in a Facebook post that when they arrived on the scene they found heavy fire conditions. "Units were able to make a quick knockdown," the department said. An investigation is underway after a fatal crash that left one person dead and an area Verizon store in flames. The incident took place around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Riverside Commons Shopping Center located at 1233 East Putnam Ave., in Greenwich, said Captain Mark Zuccerella. One person was killed after a vehicle slammed into a business at a Fairfield County shopping center. The incident took place around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Thruway Shopping Center located at 1233 East Putnam Ave., in Greenwich, said Captain Mark Zuccerella. Fire Reported At Greenwich Hospital, Officials Say
A fire has been reported at an area hospital treating many with patients with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The blaze began around 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at Greenwich Hospital, the Greenwich Fire Department said on Twitter. The fire was reported in a generator area and involved some debris in a shaftway, the department said. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, officials said on Twitter. Significant Damage Reported After House Fire Breaks Out In Greenwich
A 5,500-square-foot Fairfield County home received significant damage following a fire. The fire broke out around 9:03 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, at a home on Hemlock Drive in Greenwich, said Greenwich Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kick. The deputy chief arrived on the scene within four minutes and reported heavy smoke showing from the single-family, three-story home, Kick said. Motorists are being asked to avoid a Greenwich roadway as firefighters battle a house fire. The fire was reported at a 3-story, single-family home on Hemlock Drive, the Greenwich Fire Department said. Arriving units found heavy smoke coming from the home. Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Greenwich
A two-alarm house fire has broken out in Fairfield County. Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 to Whitney Drive in Greenwich, where the blaze quickly went to a second alarm. A two-and-half-story uninhabited home was consumed by fire overnight, causing the structure to partially collapse. The Greenwich Fire Department began receiving multiple 911 calls regarding the fire at 15 Locust Road around 11:52 p.m. Thursday, said Greenwich Fire Department Assistant Chief Robert Kick. An area man landed in the hospital after losing control of his Ford Explorer, veered across I-95 and landed in a stand of trees, according to the Connecticut State Police.
