Lane Closures Scheduled On I-84 Stretch In Region
State officials issued an alert to motorists about upcoming lane closures on I-84 in the Hudson Valley. The New York State Department of Transportation said the lane closures will take place on stretches of the highway in Dutchess, Putnam, and Orange counties from Monday, Aug. 22, through Friday, Aug. 26, to facilitate bridge maintenance activities. Officials said Orange County motorists should expect one lane to close on I-84 eastbound and westbound between Exit 4 (Mountain Road) in Greenville and Exit 39 (US Route 9W) in Newburgh. Woman Rescued, Dog Killed In I-84 Crash Between SUV, Fire Vehicle
A woman had to be extricated after a serious crash involving an SUV and fire department vehicle resulted in the death of a dog. It happened in Orange County on Wednesday, May 27 at 4:30 p.m. in Greenville. A state police investigation revealed that a Town of Greenville fire police truck, a Ford F550, was parked in the passing lane of I-84 eastbound with emergency lighting activated. How Much Snow Did You Get? A Look At Totals From The Area
The start of spring is just a week away. So, it may be safe to assume we just saw the last snowfall of the season. But then again, considering the way this winter has gone, maybe not. The Nor'easter that moved through the area overnight Monday into Tuesday did result in bands of heavy snow -- and in some parts of the area, significant accumulation.
