Connecticut native Glenn Close has been nominated for an Academy Award eight times, but if it wasn't for a lucky break and a late-night talk show segment, she may have never gone into acting. The "Fatal Attraction" star spoke with People magazine this week about her life and acting career, and she said it was Katherine Hepburn who inspired her to become an actress. Fairfield County native Close, age 77, who was born in Greenwich, said she was watching "The Dick Cavett Show" in 1973 when she happened upon an interview with Hepburn, who was also born in Connecticut — in Hartford. …

Westchester County prosecutors have given the green light for DNA testing on evidence linked to the 1992 conviction of Carolyn Warmus in the “Fatal Attraction” killing of her lover’s wife. Two years ago, Warmus, a former school teacher in Westchester, was granted parole following her conviction for her alleged role in the famed 1989 fatal shooting of Greenburgh resident Betty Jeanne Solomon, the wife of Warmus' lover, Paul Solomon, nine times in the back. After more than 30 years, iconic actress and "Fatal Attraction" femme fatale, Glenn Close has listed her Northern Westchester estate for sale. After serving 27 years for murdering her lover’s wife in a case that attracted national attention and which was chronicled in two movies, Carolyn Warmus is now a free woman. In a case that attracted national attention and which has been chronicled in two movies, the former Westchester school teacher who killed her lover’s wife in the notorious 1989 "Fatal Attraction" slaying has been granted parole. Carolyn Warmus, now 55, was sentenced to 25 years to life in 1992 for fatally shooting Greenburgh resident Betty Jeanne Solomon, the wife of Warmus' lover, Paul Solomon, nine times in the back.
